Yoga - Practice - Peace with Heidi - January 2023 Newsletter

Heidi Richards | JAN 4, 2023

Welcome to the first edition of the yoga-practice-peace newsletter.

Thank you to all the yogis who have attended classes, I am inspired by your dedication! I love teaching yoga, the best bit is seeing everyone at the end of the class in euphoric yoga bliss, the nervous system is settled, and the minds thoughts have quietened.

Through practice yoga teaches us to calm the fluctuations of the mind.

INTRODUCING YOGA THERAPY

Over the past two years I have been completing postgraduate yoga studies in Yoga Therapy with The Yoga Therapy Institute. These studies are now complete and I am excited to be offering yoga therapy in 2023.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is a one-on-one person-centered approach, incorporating all the elements of yoga therapeutically to assist people with a range of physical, emotional, and mental health needs. It is supportive and complimentary to other methods of therapy, enhancing overall health and wellbeing.

In a yoga therapy session, you will work collaboratively with the Yoga Therapist to establish an individualized, structured, and evolving program that works for you and your lifestyle.

This holistic therapeutic application empowers individuals to take charge of their healing. The Yoga Therapist will form a team with your medical practitioners and other allied health therapist ensuring your therapy is complimentary to other medical treatments.

Therapy is provided through the blend of ancient yogic tradition and contemporary methods, incorporating an extensive toolkit of movement, breath, meditation, sound, and gesture, to support you on your journey to optimum health and wellbeing.

Yoga therapy can support you with:

Physical Disability, Neuro-diversity, Healthy Ageing, Menopause, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, PTSD, Chronic Fatigue, Regulation of the Nervous System, Mobility, Strength Building, Recovery from Injury and Surgery, Sleep Disturbances, Chronic Pain, Learning how to Breath (Breathwork), Musculoskeletal issues (Muscles, bones, joints, connective tissue).
